S'marshmallows

Last night we got a chance to get 2 of the 3 kids home and had a Bar B Q and finished off the night by lighting up the fire pit and roasting S'marshmallows.  I know - it's spelled wrong, but the name has stuck ever since Brittney called them that many years ago.  Here are some picture for you to enjoy.

The kids were having so much fun and the bigger kids were just having fun watching the little ones.  Some day though we'll do it all again with ALL the family.  Miss you M-J-H-B.

I'm getting too old for this...

The old dishwasher gave up and it was time to replace it. Rather than spending the extra on getting someone to install it, it was decided spend a bit more to get the machine we wanted and do the installation ourselves.

Yes, there were several trips to the hardware store because now the manufacturers have decided to just leave out some of the necessary pieces so THEY can save some money. Several times Nina asked "Is it time to call the installer now?" but I wasn't going to give up.

Did you know that water lines only come in lengths that are simply too short to use. You have to buy more than one, and hook them together too! What kind of )*#*($&@^@* is that? After the third store, and I don't know how many trips back and forth, it's done. We could run the first load.

Of course it couldn't be that easy - yet. After that first load I found water under the sink.....so now I had to replace the splicer that connects the various water lines under the sink.  The pickup knew the way to the store - I just had to get in and start it.
The next loads were dry both under the sink and under the diswasher.

I'm done .... where are the pain relievers, because my body isn't used to this.

Spring Snow

Do you see the large snowflakes in this picture taken this morning? Lucky it's just too warm and late in the year for anything to stick or accumulate. I've had enough of the white stuff this year. The picture really doesn't do the snowfall justice. The flakes were so big and fat and juicy: you could actually hear them dropping on the carport. Some were nearly the size of quarters!

Update:
A full week later - on the 14th of March, we were letting the dogs out in the back yard and found this!!  We hadn't even realized it had snowed!

New Wheels

OK...we broke down and purchased a 'new' vehicle last Friday. This was locally owned by someone who is notorious for taking excellent care of their vehicles and we took the plunge. While not a flashy SUV and definitely not our Dream Vehicle, we like the ride and features. We'll keep the van for every-day driving and trips that require more cargo room.
